Indicative strategic masterplan

Following an internal review by the Ministry of Defence, Princess Royal Barracks Deepcut has been declared surplus to requirements. In July 2014 the Defence Infrastructure Organisation appointed Skanska UK to redevelop Deepcut and expand the current training facilities at Worthy Down.

In July 2013, Surrey Heath Borough Council approved a hybrid application for the redevelopment of the site. This comprises full planning permission for the conversion of three existing buildings to provide 81 flats and outline planning permission for a high quality residential-led scheme offering:

  • 1,200 new homes
  • A new primary school
  • Retail, commercial and community facilities
  • Improvements to local infrastructure, highways and public transport provision
  • 69.1 hectares of public open space
